Dr. Jack Steele and staff held a retirement dinner for Cheryl Wible recently at the Union Hotel in Eve-rett. She retired after 35 years as a dental assistant and receptionist.

Simon Mellott remains a patient in Altoona Hospital at this time.

Tim McGarvey is recuperating with rehab at Penn Medicine at Rittenhouse. His address is 1800 Lombard Street, Room 3040, Philadelphia, PA 19146. Keep him in your prayers and he would like hearing from friends back here.

Pat Horton is at home recuperating after spending several weeks under hospital care.

Lois Strait is recuperating at home with a fracture to her foot. She is wearing a cast.

Alice Mellott and Mona Sowers enjoyed a trip to Las Vegas recently.

Dora and Cindy Lynch recently visited with Dora’s sister, May, and nieces and nephews in Ohio.

Congratulations to Ben and Sara Elliott on the birth of a daughter April 20. She was named Brenda Deloris and was born at home with a mid-wife assisting. She has an older sister, Mariam, and a brother Jacob.

Chris and Christian Hann celebrated their 11th wedding anniversary over the weekend in Washington, D.C., along with her sister, Diane, and Ben Leese, who was 30 on April 29.

It happened this week: Congress ordered that the motto “In God We Trust” be placed on American currency in 1864. The phrase replaced “E Plurebus Unum” as the “official” motto of the United States in 1956.
