Football/Cheerleading Registration Youth football and cheerleading registration for Fulton County Cowboys for ages 5-12 will be held Sunday, May 16, June 27 and July 18, at the American Legion in McConnellsburg from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. More information may be obtained by calling Hollie at 717-658-3563 or Damon at 301-573-1139.

Free Youth Shoots Free youth shoots for .22 rifle and shotgun will be held at Fulton County Rifle and Pistol Club. Registration begins at 5:30 p.m. and ends at 6:30 p.m. every Friday night in May. Open to youths 16 and younger. Rifles and shells will be furnished. Winners nightly and kitchen open. Must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Spring Festival The annual spring festival sponsored by Trinity United Church of Christ will be held Saturday, May 8, from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., rain or shine. There will be flea market, yard sale and craft vendors. The food stand will open with breakfast served at 8:00 a.m. The menu throughout the day will include country ham sandwiches, soups, french fries, hot dogs, steamers and drinks. Chicken barbecue will be available at 11:30 a.m. Mother’s Day flowers will be sold. Cost is $5 for one item and $10 for three items. Bring lawn chairs and enjoy the day.

Dance A dance will be held Friday, May 21, from 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at the Hancock Community Center, West High Street, Hancock. Donations are free and benefit the Hancock Arts Council. More information may be obtained by calling 301-678-5084.

Spring Talent Auction A spring talent auction at Mc- Connellsburg Methodist Church on the square Saturday, May 15. Chicken potpie, coleslaw, desserts and drinks at 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Then the auction will follow at 7:00 p.m. If weather permits, event will be on the church lawn and if not it will be held inside the church. Donations will be accepted.

Bi-Valley Registration Bi-Valley girls softball will hold registration for the season on Saturday, May 1, from 10:00 a.m. to noon; Friday, May 7, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., and Saturday, May 8, from 9:00 a.m. to noon. All dates will be held in the McConnellsburg High School gym. All girls who have completed first grade to seniors can register. Help is needed. Anyone wishing to help or cannot make the registration times should call 485-0221 or 485-4530, ext. 1002, or 717-377-3643.

Senior Center Activities McConnellsburg Senior Center activities for May are as follows: nickel bingo, 10:00 a.m. - May 3, 5, 7, 10, 12, 14, 17, 19, 21, 24 and 26; Belleville, 7:00 a.m. - May 5; AARP driver course, 9:30 a.m. - May 6 and 7; blood pressure screening, 11:00 a.m. - May 6; dementia program, 10:45 a.m. - May 11; Johnstown Mall, 8:00 a.m. - May 18; nutrition/craft class, 1:00 p.m. - May 20; Chambersburg shopping, 8:00 a.m. - May 27; dime bingo, 10:00 a.m. - May 28; closed Memorial Day.

Swimming Lessons Grea Cove Golf Course will provide American Red Cross swimming lessons. All levels will be offered. More information may be obtained by calling 485-0221 or 485-4530, ext. 1002.

Bus Trip Modern Woodmen of America Camp 7948 is sponsoring a bus trip to New York City on Saturday, May 8. The bus departs from the McConnellsburg Courthouse at 6:00 a.m. A stop will be made for breakfast at approximately 8:30 a.m. and arrive in New York City near Macy’s at approximately 11:30 a.m. A stop will be made also halfway home for supper. Estimate arrival back in McConnellsburg is 12:15 a.m. Cost for transportation and the breakfast buffet is $45 for adults and $40 for kids under 12. Trap Shooting Trap shooting will be held at Fulton County Pistol & Rifle Club, with practice every Friday evening at 7:00 p.m. Also the third Sunday of each month starting at noon with 10 target warmup and 100 target shoot follows. These shoots are open to the public. All are welcome.
