Forbes Road 1

Andrew King connected for a solo homer in the second inning Monday night and scored the Forbes Road Cardinals’ lone run during an 8-1 loss to the Fannett-Metal Tigers. Teammate Trent Black added two hits while recording four strikeouts, 13 hits and four earned runs from the mound.

Chestnut Ridge 8

McConnellsburg 4

McConnellsburg posted four runs Monday night but also gave up four errors against Chestnut Ridge for the 8-4 Sideling Hill League loss. Seth Seville tallied two hits for the Spartans, and Evan Appleby and Drew Wink both drove in runs. Nathan Swope opened the game on the mound for Mc- Connellsburg and finished three innings with two strikeouts, two walks, three hits and two earned runs.

Northern Bedford 10

Southern Fulton 0

Northern Bedford ousted Southern Fulton in five short innings last Thursday evening, winning the Sideling Hill League match by the end score of 10-0. Pitcher Zach Morton took his first loss of the spring season with one strikeout, three walks, four hits and three earned runs. Morton also led the offensive effort with two hits.

Everett 14

Forbes Road 12

Forbes Road commanded the lead on three different occasions last Thursday evening but ended the Sideling Hill League game on a sour note with a 14-12 loss to Everett. Nathan Karczewski ended the loss batting a perfect four-for-four with a double, while teammates Andrew King and Trent Black both added three RBIs. Black opened the game on the mound for the loss with two strikeouts, four walks, seven hits and eight earned runs.

Southern Fulton 12

Fannett-Metal 1

Derek Younker completed five innings on the mound Saturday and struck out eight batters to lead the Southern Fulton Indians to a 12-1 trouncing of the Fannett Metal Tigers. Younker also added one walk, three hits and one earned run in the Sideling Hill League game as well as three hits, which included a two-run homer and three RBIs. Levi Mellott also batted three-forthree, and J.C. Munson wrapped up the day with a double and two RBIs.

Hancock 7 Forbes Road 3

Hancock scored seven runs in the final three innings of last Wednesday’s nonleague match to rally for a 7- 3 victory over the Forbes Road Cardinals. Pitcher Dakota DeShong had six strikeouts, four walks, three hits and three earned runs during the loss. Dustin Sheffield had the Cardinals’ only extra-base hit, a double, and also added an RBI. Others knocking in a run included Dylan Gelvin and Nathan Karczewski.
McConnellsburg 7
Southern Fulton 5

Southern Fulton mounted a seventh inning comeback but it was too little, too late for the Indians, who fell to the McConnellsburg Spartans by two runs last Wednesday. Winning Spartan pitcher Seth Seville tallied two strikeouts, two walks, five hits and two earned runs over six innings. Fellow pitcher Evan Appleby picked up the save with one strikeout. Nathan Swope had a double for Mc- Connellsburg, while Indian Derek Younker also had a double and two RBIs while batting three-for-four at the plate. Younker also took the loss after striking out two batters and giving up one walk, four hits and two earned runs.
