FCMC Foundation Auction Nets $20K
Saturday evening in the small town of Hustontown, auction goers were all a buzz at Fulton County Medical Center Foundation’s annual auction. The dinner auction, sponsored by the FCMC Auxiliary, was held, with proceeds slated for the Foundation’s Zoom Zoom campaign, which began in January 2010. The event brought nearly 300 folks together for a worthy cause – the Zoom Zoom campaign – to raise funds for a new van for the 67 long-termcare residents who call FCMC their home.
The banquet hall was jampacked with items to purchase and buyers to take home precious treats and treasures. The sale of the silent auction items added up to $3,225 and, with the help of local auctioneer Lyle Reed, the traditional items added another $12,995. The FCMC Auxiliary hosted a quilt raffle that brought in an additional $844. The winner of the quilt was Nancy Henry.
According to the Foundation’s auction organizer, Wendy Farling, “The auction’s grand total, thanks to the many donors and the generous donations from the FCMC Auxiliary, medical staff and the sale, was more than $20,000. We are so excited for the residents, and we’re glad they were able to participate. Not only did they come to the auction, they made items for the auction.”
The auction committee expresses its thanks to all who participated in the auction in any way.
Donations are still being accepted to the Zoom Zoom campaign, for more information please call 717-485-6115.
The Foundation would also like to remind all to mark calendars for these upcoming events: May 26, Jail Bail, September 27 for the 16th annual FCMCF Golf Tournament, September 26 Healthy Sportsman Health Fair, October 18-22 Women’s Health Week and November 19, the Cold Turkey Trot.
