Woman Cited For Harassment

Thirty-two-year-old Stacy Lynn Barnhart of Warfordsburg has been cited for harassment in connection with an incident at 14290 Buck Valley Road on Tuesday, April 6. Barnhart allegedly contacted an individual repeatedly via cellphone even after being warned to stop by state police troopers.

Two Charged After Altercation

A McConnellsburg man and woman have been charged by state police following a physical altercation at a residence along East Maple Street in McConnellsburg Borough. State police reported that on March 13 at approximately 9:20 p.m. Joann Oakman, 33, and Philip Oakman, 34, were involved in a dispute, during which both individuals sustained minor injuries.

Charges were filed against the two on April 5 through Magisterial District Judge Wendy Mellott. Joann Oakman was charged with summary harassment, and Philip Oakman was cited with summary harassment and one count of simple assault, a third-degree misdemeanor.

Waterfall Man Sentenced

A Waterfall area man was recently sentenced by Magistrate Greg Miller in West Virginia for driving while under license suspension and having defective equipment. Sixty-one-year-old George Thomas Veasey was ordered by Miller to pay $450 in fines and fees in connection with the charges.

Theft Charges Pending

Charges of theft are pending through the office of Magisterial District Judge Wendy Mellott against a Mc- Connellsburg man accused of taking $250 in musical equipment. Forty-eightyear old James Marvin Yonker Sr. is accused of taking an American Indiana guitar and and Indiana guitar amp from an apartment at 111 Lincoln Way East in McConnellsburg Borough. Victim of the 2:30 p.m. theft on Thursday, April 8, is a 64- year-old McConnellsburg woman.

Chambersburg Man Charged With DUI

Forty-six-year-old Chambersburg resident Blaine Harris has been charged with driving under the influence after he was observed eating behind the wheel of a vehicle near the intersection of Route 522 and Route 475. According to state police, Harris was allegedly exhibited signs of intoxication during the incident on Sunday, April 11, at 2:47 a.m. Harris was charged through Magisterial District Judge Devin Horne.

Access Device Fraud Investigated

State police, McConnellsburg, recently investigated a case of access device fraud that occurred sometime March 25 or 26. The victim, a 49-year-old McConnellsburg man, told troopers his bank card information was utilized to make purchases online at Walmart in the amount of $877.86.

Batteries Stolen

Six NAPA premium marine/ RV deep cycle batteries were stolen from a message board between March 31 and April 1. The board was located along Interstate 70 in Bethel Township when the theft occurred. The batteries have been valued at $1,800. Anyone having additional information related to this theft should contact Trooper Carper at 717-485- 3131.

Sign Struck

A signboard along the westbound lanes of Interstate 70 was struck by an unknown vehicle on Thursday, April 1, at 7 a.m., state police reported. Anyone having additional information concerning this hit-and-run collision should call Trooper Carper at 717-485-3131.

911 Sign Removed

A 911 address sign was removed from the intersection of Wells Valley and Coldwater roads located in Wells Township between April 4 and April 7. Victim of the theft is a 73-year-old Wells Tannery area woman. The sign has been valued at $25. Anyone with further information related to this theft is asked to call Trooper Falkosky at 717-485-3131.

Money Taken

An estimated $2,000 was reported missing from a residence located at 5637 Sipes Mills Road, Warfordsburg, between noon on March 22 and 4 p.m. on April 2. Anyone with information pertinent to this break-in is asked to contact Trooper Sheffield by calling 717-485-3131.

Electronics Stolen

Approximately $220 in household and electronic items were stolen from 16 Gerald Circle, McConnellsburg, between March 3 and March 9. The victim is a 38- year-old McConnellsburg woman. Anyone having further information related to this case of theft should call Trooper Falkosky at 717-485- 3131.

Police Make DUI Arrest

State police, McConnellsburg, made a driving-underthe influence arrest at the intersection of Route 30 and Schoolhouse Road in Licking Creek Township over the weekend. Thirty-six-year-old Robbie Dwight Daniels of McConnellsburg was initially stopped by troopers on Saturday, April 10, for a traffic violation at 2:48 a.m. that led to the accusations of drunk driving.

Maryland Woman Cited After Crash

A Maryland driver was cited for duties at stop signs after she allegedly pulled from the intersection of Route 30 and 655 and into the path of an oncoming vehicle on Friday, April 9. According to state police, the 2007 Ford Focus driven by Patty J. McElwain Snyder, 48, of Dayton, Ohio, pulled into the lane of travel of a westbound 2000 Ford Focus operated by Larry T. Rush, 38, Waynesboro.

State police added Snyder and her passenger, an 8- year-old boy, were not injured in the 6:24 p.m. accident in Licking Creek Township. Rush and his passengers, Zachary E. Starliper, 18, Waynesboro, and a 6- year-old male also from Waynesboro, also escaped harm.

Two Uninjured In Parking Lot Crash

Two individuals escaped injury when two vehicles collided in the parking lot of The Shak along Route 522 just north of McConnellsburg last Wednesday. State police reported Walter D. Gresty, 70, of McConnellsburg was backing out of his parking spot when his 2003 Dodge Dakota struck a legally parked 2006 Toyota Camry. Gresty then reportedly fled the parking lot heading south.

Gresty was wearing a seat belt and was not injured. Jill D. Stains, 41, of Harrisonville was reported inside the parked vehicle at the time of the 12:30 p.m. crash. She was not using a seat belt and also escaped injury. Gresty will be charged by state police in connection with the crash.

DUI Checkpoint Nets Three Arrests

State police, McConnellsburg, reported they made three driving-under-the-influence related arrests and issued various traffic citations and written warnings during a DUI checkpoint conducted at various locations in Fulton County on Saturday, April 10.
