Strawberry Festival Set For June 11-12

The Fulton County Chamber of Commerce & Tourism has set the dates for its 20th annual Strawberry Festival for Friday and Saturday, June 11 and 12. Thanks to the generous spirit of Bill Palmer of Palmer Construction Co., the festival has been relocated to the old Fulton County Medical Center parking lot due to the construction work that is under way at the courthouse lawn.

The theme of the festival is “Having Fun and Building Community Spirit.” This year the festival plans to feature its talent contest on Friday night and its very popular hot dog-eating contest at noon on Saturday. Many more activities are in the planning stages, for example: a baby contest, strawberry recipe contest, best vendor booth contest and much more. Local talent groups, food vendors, craft items and children’s activities will also be featured.

Any persons or groups wanting to participate in this year’s festival may contact the chamber office. All applicants must be approved by the Strawberry Festival Committee. As always, delicious strawberry delights, such as shortcake, strawberry pie, waffles and lots of fresh strawberries by the quart, will be served in the chamber booth .

The festival begins each day at 10 a.m. and continues on Friday until 9 p.m. and on Saturday until 5 p.m.
