Hustontown Area Volunteer Fire Co. will sponsor an open stage and chicken barbecue on Saturday, April 24. Open stage begins at 6:00 p.m. The kitchen opens at 5:00 p.m. and chicken barbecue begins at 3:00 p.m. Eat in or takeouts. Menu includes half a chicken with baked beans, macaroni salad, roll and cake. Everyone is welcome to attend and share their talent or just come out and have an enjoyable evening.

Household hint: You can also use liquid softener in the dryer. It’s a bit more trouble but it’s cheaper than softener sheets. Just dampen a washcloth or other clean rag, pour on a small amount of softener. Make sure it soaks in and toss into the dryer.
