Southern Fulton picked up its first win of the season Saturday during a Sideling Hill League games against the Tussey Mountain Titans. Indians pitcher Kelsey White struck out seven batters and held out for only two hits and three walks. In the meantime, Taelor Morton led the offensive effort with two hits.

Fannett-Metal 16

McConnellsburg 4

Fannett-Metal wrapped up Thursday’s Sideling Hill League match in only five innings, defeating the Mc- Connellsburg Lady Spartans by a total of 12 runs. Pitcher Alexus Mellott had 11 hits, two walks, 12 earned runs and two strikeouts during the match. Mellott also led her teammates in extra-base hits with a triple and added two RBIs.

Chestnut Ridge 6

Southern Fulton 1

The Southern Fulton Lady Indians opened up the spring 2010 season on Thursday with a disappointing 6-1 Sideling Hill League loss to Chestnut Ridge. Pitcher Kelsey White totalled six innings with two strikeouts, eight hits, two walks and four earned runs. In addition, Carissa Gordon had the team’s lone hit, a single in the first inning.

Hyndman 18

Forbes Road 3

The mercy rule was enacted in the third inning Thursday night against the Forbes Road Lady Cardinals, who ended in a dismal 18-3 loss at the hands of the Hyndman Hornets. Sam Clippinger posted a triple for the Cardinals, and teammate Raven Whitman added a double. Pitcher Cecely Martz opened the game and was handed the loss with one strikeout, five walks, four hits and five earned runs.

Hancock 8

Forbes Road 7

Forbes Road kicked off its season play last Wednesday with a one-point loss to Hancock, Md. Cecely Martz, pitcher, took her first loss of the year with four walks, four hits and six earned runs over six innings. Corri Parsons tallied a double in the sixth inning and finished the game with two hits, as did teammate Raven Whitman. Michelle Martz added two RBIs.
