Born September 17, 1934, in Burnt Cabins, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Beulah Naugle Truax.
She was a graduate of Hustontown High School, Class of 1952.
She was employed by Uni-Mart for 26 years. She enjoyed playing bingo at North Middleton Fire Co., playing poker and watching Rev. Dr. Robert Schuller on Sunday mornings. She was a devoted family person who loved her husband, children and grandchildren.
Shirley’s family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to Celtic Hospice and all of their employees for their compassionate care during their time of need.
Surviving are her husband of 53 years, Sydney Fisher of Carlisle; one son, Seth Fisher (and wife Loretta) of Newville; two daughters: Stefanie Smith (and husband Clarence) of Enola; Julie Yardis of Carlisle; eight grandchildren; nine greatgrandchildren and two sisters: Caroline Bricker of Fannettsburg and Glenda Cramer (and husband Carl) of Newburg.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 10, 2010, at Hoffman- Roth Funeral Home & Crematory Inc., Carlisle, with Rev. Tim Wheeler officiating. Burial will be in Westminster Cemetery, Carlisle. A viewing will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
