Gary E. Brown

Imler, 57

Gary Eugene Brown, 57, Imler, died after fighting a long, courageous battle with cancer on Friday, April 2, 2010, surrounded by his loving family at home.

He was born in Roaring Spring on February 28, 1953, the son of John and Irene (Helsel) Brown of Bedford.

He was married to Sharleen (Helsel) at the Mount Union United Methodist Church of Lovely, by the Rev. Charles Rhodes on October 27, 1973.

Surviving are his daughters: Jennifer, married to Dan Fulton, and Heidi, married to Matthew Orner; grandchildren: Zachary and Bryan Fulton; brother and sisters: David, married to the former Pam Vaughn, Osterburg; Geraldine and fiance Mark Ford, Everett; Doris Brown, New Paris; Marilyn Brown, Everett; Lisa, married to Ted Mock, Alum Bank; Bonnie Winston, West Virginia; and Nicole, married to Steve Ulrich, New Paris.

He was preceded in death by his father; his infant grandson, Aaron Daniel Fulton, and nephew Ben Mock.

He graduated in 1971 from Chestnut Ridge High School. He worked at Allison’s Gas Station in Pleasantville; and then worked for Burketts in Manns Choice; Dean’s Tire on Black Oak Ridge, Bedford; Grove Manufacturing for 4 1/2 years; and JLG for 29 1/2 years, between McConnellsburg and Bedford (Weber Lane Plant), where he welded; five of those years he was a thirdshift supervisor at Weber Lane.

He loved working on cars, fixing things and being with his family.

Memorial services were held Tuesday, April 6, at 11:00 a.m. at the J. Edward Blackburn Funeral Home, Pleasantville. Pastor Gary Boor officiated. Burial was made in Mount Union United Meth-odist Church Cemetery in Lovely.
