Job Fair Fulton County Chamber of Commerce & Tourism is hosting a job fair at the Fulton Theatre, McConnellsburg, April 15 from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. More information may be obtained by calling 717-485-4064.

Open House Magisterial District Judge Carol Jean Johnson and staff will be holding an open house on Friday, April 9, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. to commemorate their new office space in the upper level of the Needmore Firehall. The general public is encouraged to attend.

AARP Driver Safety Program The classroom refresher course for the AARP Driver Safety Program will be offered at McConnellsburg Senior Center, 100 Woodside Drive, Mc- Connellsburg, on May 6 and 7. There will be two days of classes, 9:30 a.m. to noon each day. Advanced registration is required. Cost is $12 for AARP members and $14 for nonmembers. Make check payable to AARP. Sign up in person, by phone at 485-5613 or by mail. Graduates of the class age 55 and over will be eligible for three-year auto insurance discounts. If there is more than one person over 55 on your insurance policy, all must complete the class to be eligible for the discount. If planning on staying for dinner at the center following the class, please call the day before.

Car Wash A car wash will be held April 24 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Great Cove Autos. Sponsored by Mt. Zion Lodge 774 to benefit charitable fundraising efforts.

Litter & Trash Cleanup A litter and trash cleanup day, sponsored by Friends of the Little Aughwick Creek, will be held April 24 at 9:00 a.m. Meet at two locations to pick up around the Burnt Cabins and Fort Littleton area. Meeting at the parking lot across from Park Texaco in Fort Littleton at 9:00 a.m. Lunch and drinks provided by Park Gas Station. Meeting at the Burnt Cabins Grist Mill at 8:30 a.m. Hot dogs, snacks and drinks provided by Burnt Cabins Grist Mill. Licking Creek Cleanup Volunteer trash cleanup will be held at the Licking Creek illegal dumpsite in Thompson Township, Fulton County Saturday, April 10, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Meet at 8:45 a.m. at the dumpsite, located on Licking Creek Road. From McConnellsburg follow US-522 south, Great Cove Road for seven miles, turn left onto PA 928/Big Cove Tannery Road and follow for seven miles, turn left onto Johnson Road, cross over Licking Creek, turn right onto Licking Creek Road and end at the dumpsite. Open House Fulton County Community Christian School will be holding open house Thursday, April 8, 2010, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. FCCCS has classes for pre-K through 12th grade. SF Spring Sale Southern Fulton School District is holding its annual spring sale from April 1-23. Items for sale include the following: T-shirts, hoodies, shorts, socks, polo shirts, key chains and patches. Payment is due when the order is received and checks should be made out to SFD. Musical Auditions Summer musical auditions will be held April 19, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at McConnellsburg UMC, and April 20 from 6 p.m. to -7:30 p.m. at Cito UMC. We are doing “Children of Eden.” All ages are welcome. Please come with a song of choice to perform. A dance ensemble is needed in addition to choral company. Free Tax Help and E-Filing Free tax help and E-filing for taxpayers with low or middle income, any age, will be held at Fulton Theatre, behind F&M Bank, McConnellsburg, every Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Volunteers will prepare federal, state, local and rent and property tax rebates. Please bring all of the following: last year’s income tax returns, current year’s tax forms such as W-2s, 1099-Int., 1099-Div., 1099- B, 1099-R, social security, etc. Must have last year’s taxes to be able to E-file. No business or farms. Have 8 preparers who are certified by the IRS. Any questions call 717-987-3915. No parking on F&M Bank’s parking lot.
