Bowl For Heart At McConnellsburg A Success


The students of McConnellsburg Elementary recently bowled over heart disease by participating in Bowl for Heart. The students raised $3,204.50 for the American Heart Association. Donations raised help fund research to fight heart disease and stroke and also support the American Heart Association’s public and professional education programs. The top fundraisers were Katie Duvall, second grade, and Shandi Black, third grade, who raised a total of $200 each. Other top fund raisers were Madison Queeney, first grade, ($168.50); Aleah Lynch, second grade, ($150); and Steven Hann, third grade, ($130). Coordinators were Lisa Culler and Angie Zinobile. Bowl for Heart is a program that promotes physical fitness and heart health through the lifelong activity of bowling. It is cosponsored by the American Heart Association and the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance.
