FR Junior High Student Of The Month

Joy Ford, a ninth-grade student at Forbes Road High School has been named Junior High Student of the Month for March by the high school faculty. Students are selected by their teachers based on attendance, grades, citizenship and being a positive leader in the classroom.

She is enrolled in the academic curriculum and says that math and tech ed are her favorite classes. Her math teacher, Mrs. Vollbrecht, says, “Joy is a great student to have in class. She is willing to help classmates better understand the material, but more importantly, she is an excellent thinker. She often surprises me with unique ways of solving problems.”

Joy is a member of the Library Club and the scorekeeper for varsity field hockey. She attends New Grenada Church of God, where she is active in the youth group.

Joy’s parents are Dana and Becky Ford, and she has three other siblings. In her spare time, she likes to listen to music and hang out with her friends.

When a student is named Student of the Month by the faculty, it is in recognition of a promising young person who shows strength and character in their daily school life. Joy has impressed her teachers as being a good example of these students.
