Buterbaugh Graduates

Christopher Earl Buterbaugh graduated March 5, 2010, from Western Maryland Police Academy. He is employed as an officer with the city of Hagerstown.

The seven-month training course certified Buterbaugh in the basics of police science, with certifications in crisis preparation and emergency response, firearms and law enforcement prevention, and deterrence of terrorist acts.

Buterbaugh is a 2006 graduate of McConnellsburg High School. He attended UPJ, Hagerstown Community College and Shippensburg University. Prior to his entrance into the academy, he was employed as a park ranger with PA DCNR at Cowans Gap State Park. He also works part time in the security department of The Mercersburg Academy.

He is the son of Rick and Debbie Buterbaugh of Mc- Connellsburg. He is the grandson of Dick and Lillian “Toots” Buterbaugh of Mc- Connellsburg and Ron “Buck” and Carol Richards of Needmore. Great-grandmother is Lena Bergstresser, who currently resides at ManorCare in Chambersburg.
