Huldah Streightiff has been a patient at J.C. Blair Memorial after having emergency surgery last Sunday night. We wish her a speedy recovery.

Gale Grissinger Culter of Columbus, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday evening. Our sympathy is extended to her family.

Congratulations to Tyson and Katherine Hale Hollibaugh on the birth of their son on Sunday, March 28. Big brother Sawyer will be glad to have a buddy to share his toys with in a few years.

Congratulations to Bob and Anissa Markey on the birth of their daughter, Kimberly Dawn, on Saturday, March 27. She weighed in at 7 pounds, 9 ounces.

Buzz and Bea Covert recently visited with Cal Wolfe of Fort Loudon.

Betty Ramsey and Joe, Melanie and Dison Myers traveled to Wilkes Barre over the weekend. They spent time with Bill, Molly, Emily and Pete Ramsey and took in the PA Junior Olympic wrestling tournament.

Roger and Pat Ramsey and Brian, Emily and Micah Ramsey enjoyed a family dinner with Terry and Trudy Fix on Sunday evening. It was good to see Travis Fix, who is home from Louisana for a few days.

Angel Wings is sponsoring a benefit ride and pig roast for Jesse and Jennifer Miller, who are both dealing with some illness. The ride will be on June 12 beginning at the Shade Gap picnic grounds. A pig roast will follow the ride at approximately 3:00 p.m. One hundred percent of the proceeds will go to the Miller family.

Bea Covert attended a jewelry party at the home of Tasha Goshorn on Friday evening.

Karen Grissinger visited with Joe, Kristin, Hannah, Naomi, Sarah and Zack Diehl on Saturday, while Steve Grissinger was attending a farm sale near McVeytown.

Buzz and Bea Covert attended the open stage event at Hustontown Firehall on Saturday evening. Our congratulations go to Donna Gibbons for her outstanding performance.

Three Springs Fire Co. will be hosting a chicken barbecue on Sunday, April 18. Takeouts will be available.

Five-dollar raffle tickets are available for a drawing the week of June 15 to 19 based on the straight evening daily lottery number to benefit Angel Wings. Prizes include on Monday, $250 worth of beef (steaks); Tuesday a $500 cash prize; Wednesday $250 worth of beef (steaks); Thursday a $200 gift card from Sandy Ridge Market; and Friday a grand prize of $1,200 worth of groceries from Sandy Ridge Market. Angel Wings is a group of volunteers in a nonprofit organization helping to fill the needs of many folks in our area.

Visitors with the Steve and Karen Grissinger family this week were Brent Carlson, Tom and Mamie Streightiff, and Travis Madden.

Travis Madden, Steve Grissinger and Jim Lupey attended the gun show in McConnellsburg on Sunday.

Sunrise services will be held at Immanuel Bible Church on Sunday beginning at 6:30 a.m.

Shooting matches at the Hustontown Firehall will continue through April 10. The last event on April 10 will be a hog shoot, starting at 1 p.m.
