Historical Society News
The volunteers of the historical society museum met on Monday, March 22, to discuss plans for the 2010 season.
It was decided to reopen the museum on Friday, June 4, and to have hours each Friday from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. until the end of September. The new displays will be of old kitchen utensils and tools, and of various types of needlework.
Supplies have been purchased to facilitate the preservation of the museum’s old documents and papers and it is hoped that a good portion of this work will be done during the summer. It is time-consuming work More volunteers are needed to help this preservation project so that the papers can be filed in the research room at the library. Anyone with an interest in reading these papers and documenting the names mentioned so that an index can be printed is asked to volunteer.
The museum spring tea is scheduled for Saturday, April 24, in the meeting room of the Fulton House at 11:30 a.m. A limited number of tickets are available and can be purchased at Summer Thyme Floral on Lincoln Way West at $9 for adults and $4.50 for children.
