Hazel F. DeShong

Hazel F. DeShong, 86, Mc- Connellsburg, died Friday, March 19, 2010, at Fulton County Medical Center.

She was born in Licking Creek, June 10, 1923, the daughter of the late Riley James and Ethel Rebecca (Schooley) Sipes. She was the widow of Reamer F. DeShong.

She was a member of Siloam United Methodist Church in Harrisonville, the church’s ladies aide and also was a homemaker.

She is survived by daughters: Pamalee (wife of Dave) Keefer, McConnellsburg; Joyce (wife of Wayne) Keefer, McConnellsburg; son Trevor (husband of Melissa) DeShong, McConnellsburg; sister Zoe Brant, St. Thomas; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by sisters: Lois Ramsey, Jean Deavor and an infant brother, Melvin Sipes.

Funeral services were held at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home Inc., Harrisonville, at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 23. Pastor William Bair officiated. Burial was made in Siloam United Methodist Cemetery, Harrisonville.
