Cathleen Strock

Needmore, 53

Cathleen “Cathy” Strock, 53, Needmore, died unexpectedly Saturday, March 20, 2010, at Morgan County War Memorial Hospital, Berkeley Springs.

Born August 9, 1956, in Brownsville, Pa., she was the daughter of Mary Elizabeth Walters and John Novakowski.

She was a 1974 graduate of Southern Fulton High School.

She was a homemaker and employed as a housekeeper.

She attended St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Hancock.

In addition to her mother and father, she is survived by her husband of 21 years, Harry Edgar Strock III; one son, Harry Edgar Strock IV, Needmore; three sisters: Terri Jordan, Uniontown, Pa.; Kimberly Blackburn and Laurie Johnson, both of Warfordsburg; five brothers: Edward Novakowski, Poco, W.Va.; Jerry Walters Jr., and Joseph Walters, both of Warfordsburg; Donald Walters, Shade Gap; John Novakowski, Mercersburg; motherin law and father-in-law Dolores and Harry Strock Jr., Hancock; sister-in-law Rebecca Bohrer, Shepherdstown, W.Va.; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Vanessa Winsor; stepsister Connie Forgen; grandmother Edith Casebolt and stepfather Jerry David Walters Sr.

The family will receive friends at Hancock United Methodist Church, 168 West Main Street, Hancock, Friday, March 26, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., with memorial services at 7:00 p.m. Rev. Duane Jensen and Rev. Willis Swope will officiate.

The family requests because of Cathy’s love for animals that memorial contributions be made to the animal welfare society of one’s choice.
