Fulton County Library welcomed spring Saturday with the teen art contest open house to honor all contest participants.

Prize checks were given out by Jamie Brambly and Annetta Hartman of Needmore. Annetta is a member of Girl Scout Troop 40440 of Berkeley Springs and put together the contest for her Girl Scout Gold Award project and PA Virtual Charter School’s gifted high school project. First prize for the 16- to-19-year-olds went to Madison Romig for her colored pencil drawing; second prize was awarded to A’leese Dickerson for her pencil drawing. McKenzie Spade’s color photography won first prize in the 13-15-year-old group and the team of Harlie Swope and Makayla Bowers were proclaimed secondprize winners for their shadow box.

The winning artwork will hang in the teen section of the library for one year.

Other artists included Hailey Berkstresser, Annetta Hartman, Victoria Chatley, Kristi Clippinger, Jared Clugston, Brandan Mellott, Courtney Miller, and Angel Hann.

The efforts of the Library’s Teen Advisory Board made the art contest and open house a success. Their next project is an all teens’ night at the library Saturday, March 27, from 5 to 7 p.m. All teens are welcome to attend teen activities at the library and to join the Teen Advisory Board. Contact Mrs. Brambley at the library for more details.
