Hustontown

By Kate Berkstresser

Hope everyone enjoyed the beautiful spring weekend weather.

Our sympathy is extended to the family of relatives of Sheldon Bishop and also to the family and relatives of Virl Long of Hustontown and to the family of Sylvia Clark of Warfordsburg.

Harriet Hill of Manheim spent the weekend with Kate Berkstresser.

Hustontown Area Volunteer Fire Co. will sponsor a 410 shooting match on Saturday, March 27, at 1:00 p.m. First- and second place prizes will be awarded. The firemen do appreciate everyone’s support.

The fire company will also sponsor an open stage on Satuday, March 27, at 6:00 p.m. The kitchen will open at 5:00 p.m. Everyone is welcome to come and share their talent. Free ad- mission and a smoke-free facility. Come and bring a friend and all will have an enjoyable evening.

There will be an indoor yard and bake sale at the United Methodist Church of St. Thomas on Friday, March 26, from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Saturday, March 27, from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. A food stand is also available. A good place to enjoy the day and also support the church folks.

Household hint: Make a paint catcher from a paper plate or the plastic lid of a coffee can. Just cut a slit in the middle and push the paintbrush handle through it. Now you can even paint overhead without getting drips in your eyes.
