Southern Fulton 48

Serra Catholic 43

Southern Fulton grabbed an early lead and edged out Serra Catholic by five points Friday night during the opening round of PIAA Class A state playoffs. Luke Mellott led the Indians with 18 points, three steals, eight rebounds and one blocked shot during the 48-43 victory. Ryan Harper added 15 points, and Derek Younker completed the match with six points and three assists.

Elk County Catholic 67

Forbes Road 41

Forbes Road finished up its season with a 19-7 record after falling to Elk County Catholic Friday night in the first round of PIAA Class A playoffs held at Clarion University. Trent Black was the lone Cardinal to reach double digits during the 67-41 loss with 12 points. Teammate Tanner Henry followed with nine points, three blocked shots and two steals. Jesse Newman and Andrew King rounded out the match with seven and six points, respectively.
