Martin Installed As New Lutheran Pastor

Rev. Christopher W. Martin Rev. Christopher W. Martin The congregations of the Mc- Connellsburg Lutheran Parish are pleased to announce the installation of Rev. Christopher W. Martin as pastor of the parish. The special service of Holy Communion with Rite of Installation will take place on Saturday, March 20, 2010, at 4:00 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 220 North 3rd Street, McConnellsburg with The Rev. Roy A. Steward, president of the Evangelical Lutheran Conference & Ministerium of North America (ELCM), as the guest preacher and officiating minister at the Rite of Installation. The Willing Workers of St. Paul Lutheran Church will serve a meal following the service in the church social room.

Pastor Martin began serving the McConnellsburg Lutheran Parish on Sunday, January 24, 2010. He and his wife, Lindsay, came to McConnellsburg after serving Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church, Audubon, Iowa, from 2007-2010. He has been an active member of the ELCM since 2005.

McConnellsburg Lutheran Parish consists of the congregations of St. Paul Lutheran Church, McConnellsburg St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Big Cove Tannery and Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, Mercersburg. The ELCM was organized in 1999 at Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church, Duncansville, Pa. The denomination currently has congregations, pastors, or missions in Pennsylvania, New York, Virginia, Minnesota, and Illinois, in addition to one active duty military chaplain in the U.S. Navy currently stationed in Japan.
