Southern Fulton 55 Shade 47

Indian Luke Mellott helped Southern Fulton advance to the championship round of District 5-A playoffs Monday night with a 55-47 victory over Shade. Mellott finished the match with 19 points, 16 rebounds and three steals and was aided by teammate Ryan Harper, who added 11 points. Derek Younker reached double figures with 10 points.

Tussey Mt. 51 Forbes Road 40

Randy Zimmerman was too much for the Forbes Road Cardinals to contain during the semifinal round of District 5-A playoffs Monday night, with Tussey Mountain clinching the match 51-40 and thereby advancing to the championship match. Tanner Henry was the lead scorer for the Cardinals with 16 points and 13 rebounds, and Jesse Newman followed with 11 points and five assists. Teammate Trent Black also reached double figures with 10 points, five assists and seven assists.

Forbes Road 45 Fannett-Metal 32

The Forbes Road Cardinals made a clean sweep of Fannett- Metal Thursday night, defeating their league rivals during the opening round of District 5-A playoffs by the final score of 45-32. The victory led by lead scorer Jesse Newman also marked the Cardinals’ third straight win this year over the Tigers. Newman finished the playoff match with 20 points, 11 rebounds, five assists and two steals. Trent Black followed with seven points, and teammates Tyler Keller and Tanner Henry both posted six.

Southern Fulton 68 Berlin 54

Southern Fulton opened up their participation in the District 5-A playoffs Saturday evening with an easy 68-54 win over Berlin. Two members of the Indians squad reached double digits during the match including Ryan Harper with 21 points and Luke Mellott with 18 points and 15 rebounds. Dylan Whiteside and Derek Younker were the next highest scorers with nine and eight points respectively.

Northern Bedford 52

Southern Fulton ran a full court press following the halftime break and eked out a twopoint victory over the Northern Bedford Panthers during the opening round of District 5-A playoffs Friday evening. Lacey Beatty was high scorer with 20 points and four assists, and Chelsie Eader stepped up to add 15 points, four assists and four steals. Jenna Hollenshead wrapped up the playoff match with eight points and six rebounds.
