Samuel L. Rouzer Sr.

Greencastle, 62

Samuel Larry Rouzer Sr., 62, Greencastle, died unexpectedly early Saturday afternoon February 27, 2010, in his home.

Born March 1, 1947, in Bedford County, he was the son of the late Ord and Lena (Harr) Rouzer.

He had worked at Nitterhouse Concrete Products of Chambersburg and last at D.L. Martin of Mercersburg. He attended West Side Brethren In Christ Church Chambersburg. He enjoyed hunting.

Surviving are his companion Viola “Dolly” Hollingshead, Greencastle; sons: S. Larry Rouzer Jr., Fort Loudon; Richard Rinehart Rouzer, Guthrie, Okla.; Chad M. Hollingshead and Travis E. Holingshead, both of Greencastle; daughter Teresa Ann Rodriguez, Guthrie, Okla.; sisters: Betty Elaine Harr, Greencastle; Rhoda Ann Christopher, Ala.; Dorothy Faye Smouse, New York; Janet Helena Appleby, Fort Loudon; Carol Lynn Barnes, Greencastle; Helen Carbaugh, Mercersburg; one brother, William Rouzer, Harrisonville; eight grandchildren and other loved ones and friends.

He was preceded in death by a son, Timothy W. Hollingshead, two sisters and three brothers.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, March 6, at 11:00 a.m. from the West Side Brethren In Christ Church, 2655 Lincoln Way West, Chambersburg, with Pastor James Sollenberger officiating. The family will receive friends at the church one hour before the service on Saturday. The family requests that flowers be omitted and memorial contributions be given to West Side Brethren In Christ Church, 2665 Lincoln Way West, Chambersburg, PA 17201.

Arrangements are being handled by Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home of Greencastle.
