Perry M. Mellott
Perry McKinley Mellott, 60, Warfordsburg, Pa., died at 4:25 a.m., Monday, February 22, 2010, in Fulton County Medical Center, McConnellsburg, Pa.
Born June 2, 1949, in Mc- Connellsburg, he was the son of the late Hubert Emert and Mary Ruth (Pittman) Mellott. He was a lifelong resident of Warfordsburg.
He attended Southern Fulton schools and served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam during the war.
He was employed as a supervisor for Rayloc Auto Parts Manufacturing for 27 years before becoming a self-employed truck driver. He retired in 2007.
He was a member of VFW Post #8333, Breezewood, and Harry Lackhove American Legion Post #537, Mercersburg, and enjoyed hunting.
He is survived by a daughter: Stacy Mosier, Hancock, Md.; a son: Shawn Mellott, Warfordsburg; a grandson; three sisters: Norma Garland, McConnellsburg; Mona Kidwell, Great Cacapon, W.Va.; Noami Stepanik, Warfordsburg; a brother: Glenn Mellott, Warfordsburg; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Gary Mellott.
Memorial services were held at 1 p.m. Saturday, February 27, in Pleasant Grove Church, Warfordsburg. Rev. Denver Plessinger officiated.
