Harry N. Fix

Harry N. Fix, 82, Chambersburg, died Friday, February 26, 2010, in his home.

Born June 27, 1927, in Fulton County, he was a son of the late Robert M. and Josephine (De- Cooman) Fix

A U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, he worked for E.D. Plummer and Sons for 35 years. He then worked as an estimator for Valley Quarries for 21 years, retiring in 2006.

He was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, George Washington Lodge #143, Tall Cedars of Lebanon #95, Harrisburg Consistory, Zembo Shriners, Burt J. Asper American Legion Post 46, and American Society of Highway Engineers.

He was also an active board member of Hamilton Township Municipal Authority for 29 years, 26 of which he served as the authority’s chairman. An avid outdoorsman, his favorite pastimes were hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his wife, Rebecca (Mosebey) Fix, whom he married in 1950; one daughter, Carol Fix Diller; one granddaughter, Kari J. Diller; a sister, Blanche Sowers, all of Chambersburg; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers: Ernest, Robert and Howard Fix; and two sisters: Elvira Johnson and Helen Hutchison.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 2, in St. Paul United Methodist Church, Chambersburg. Rev. Rick Noll officiated. Interment was made in Parklawns Memorial Gardens. VFW Post 1599 Honor Guard conducted military graveside honors.

Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, Chambersburg, was in charge of arrangements.
