A speedy recovery is wished to George Harper, who is having shoulder surgery this week in Altoona.

Nearly 50 folks from Immanuel Bible Church enjoyed a tubing outing on Saturday evening at Whitetail Resort near Mercersburg.

Brian, Emily and Micah Ramsey visited with Roger and Pat Ramsey on Saturday. Also stopping by to visit with Micah and his family was Karen Grissinger.

Visitors with the Steve and Karen Grissinger family this week were Donna Locke, Tom and Mamie Streightiff, Travis Madden and Brent Carlson.

Angel Wings organization will be hosting a spring fling craft bazaar and food sale at the Orbisonia Lions Club >building on Saturday, March 13, from 10 to 5 and Sunday, March 14, from 11 to 3. Many craft vendors, homemade soups and chicken dinners and much more. >All proceeds will be dispensed throughout this and surrounding communities. Donations are still being accepted to defray costs.

Pat Berrier hosted Orbisonia United Methodist Church ladies group meeting on Saturday. Those in attendance were Beth Creswell, Bonnie Hiles, Penny Anderson, Anita Shields, Ruth Grissinger, Bonita Anderson and Jordan Painter.

Walnut Grove ladies enjoyed a prayer breakfast at the New Fort Restaurant in Fort Littleton on Saturday morning.

Shade Gap Fire Co. hoagie sale continues for the next three weeks and that will be all until next year.

Three Springs Fire Co. will be holding a chicken and waffles dinner on March 7 beginning at 11 a.m. Eatin or take-outs will be available.

Hustontown Volunteer Fire Co. will be hosting a 410-only shooting match on Saturday, March 6, beginning at 1 p.m. A food auction will be held at the firehall on March 13 beginning at 6 p.m.

Raffle tickets are available to benefit the Angel Wings organization. Contact Ruth at 814-447- 3617 if you are interested in helping to sell or purchase tickets. Tickets are also available at Wakefield’s Auto in Shade Gap.

We are moving into March and hopefully the snow will soon disappear. We will be changing our clocks the weekend of March 13 and will have more evening hours to work outside in our yards, still covered in snow.

This week we saw our first groundhog of this year, smashed flat to the road. Several folks have been making a payback to his six more weeks of winter forecast.
