March has arrived already and the month came in with not too bad weather. It won’t be long until the folks will be thinking of making gardens.
Sorry to hear Clem Malot had a slight accident due to the road conditions but glad to hear he wasn’t injured too badly.
Hustontown Area Volunteer Fire Co. will sponsor a 410-only shooting match Saturday, March 6, at 1:00 p.m. First- and secondplace prizes will be awarded. The volunteer firemen always appreciate everyone’s support.
Hustontown Area Volunteer Fire Co. will sponsor a food auction Friday, March 12, at 6:00 p.m. The kitchen opens at 5:00 p.m. Frozen foods, snacks and miscellaneous items will be for sale.
Hustontown Area Volunteer Fire Co.’s spring banquet will be held on Saturday, March 13 for members and guests. Meal will be at 6:00 p.m.
Several churches will be having services during Lent, so go out and enjoy the coming of Easter, as it is a very special time of the year.
Household hint: Think garmust den. A handful of hydrated lime (not ground limestone) sprinkled around plants in a circle 2 to 3 inches in diameter will keep cut worms away. Even if a spring shower wets the newly applied lime, the plants remain off limits to the pests.
