Forbes Road’s Dylan Gelvin scored two timely three-point shots Monday to help lead the Cardinals to a 52-48 win over Northern Bedford during the final night of regular season play. Jesse Newman tallied 20 points for Forbes Road, which also received 10 points, four steals and five assists from Trent Black.

Hyndman 36

Ryan Defibaugh rallied for a double-double Monday night with 20 points and 14 rebounds during the McConnellsburg Spartans 54-36 Sideling Hill League victory over the Hyndman Hornets. Nathan Swope and Drew Wink both posted eight points, while Trevor Souders followed with six points and three blocked shots.

Tussey Mountain ended its quest for the Sideling Hill League title last Friday evening with a narrow three-point victory over the Southern Fulton Indians. During the Titan’s title-clinching match-up against the Indians, Southern Fulton was led by Luke Mellott, who dumped in 20 points and 11 rebounds for a double double. Ryan Harper was the only other member of the Indians squad to reach double figures with 11 points. Derek Younker and Seth Hall followed with seven and six points, respectively.

Southern Fulton’s winning streak stretched to five games last Wednesday night with a 22- point Sideling Hill League victory over the Fannett-Metal Tigers. Ryan Harper was hot from the three-point zone hitting three treys and went on to net a total of 24 points. Luke Mellott reached double figures with 16 points, eight rebounds and five steals. Carlos Calderon rounded out the match with 10 points.

Red Lion Christian 56

Fulton County Community Christian School avenged a loss from earlier in the season last Tuesday when it downed Red Lion Christian by the score of 62- 56. Seth Gordon rallied for a team-high 28 points, and T.J. Leedy managed 14 points and 17 rebounds. Kenny Lininger finished with 11 points.

Three members of the Forbes Road Cardinals may have reached double digits, but the Cardinals were unable to stop Tussey Mountain’s offensive effort led by Randy Zimmerman last Tuesday. During the Titans’ 72-56 ousting, Jesse Newman had 16 points and seven assists for the Cardinals. Tanner Henry had a double-double with 14 points, 16 rebounds and three blocked shots. Trent Black wrapped up the match with 14 points and four steals.

Southern Fulton’s one-point lead going into the fourth quarter last Thursday night was extended into a 10-point victory over county rivals, the Forbes Road Cardinals. Luke Mellott netted 20 points for the Indians, who also got 14 points, four rebounds and four assists from teammate Ryan Harper. Derek Younker finished with nine points, while Jesse Newman led the Cardinals with 21 points. Tanner Henry and Trent Black both dumped in six points, and Henry also grabbed eight rebounds to Black’s three steals and four assists.

McConnellsburg 45 Southern Huntingdon 41 McConnellsburg ended its two-game losing streak last Wednesday with a four-point non-league win over the Southern Huntingdon Rockets. Drew Wink scored a team-high 14 points and added three assists to lead the Spartans during the win, while Nathan Swope had 12 points. Trevor Souders continued a solid night of play with 10 points.
