Herbert T. Stanley
Born November 1, 1928, in Oneida, Tenn., he was the son of the late Millard and Una Birchfield Stanley.
He was of the Protestant faith.
He had been employed by B&P Motor Express, as a truck driver.
He was an avid coin collector, loved fishing, gardening and animals and was also a private pilot.
He served in the U.S. Army, stationed at Fort Hood.
He is survived by his wife, Oleta F. Deneen Stanley, Warfordsburg, whom he married December 2, 1953, in Winchester, Va.; children: Donna Bivens and fiance Jerry Grandstaff, Harrisonburg, Va.; Debbie McKee and husband Austin, Hancock; Jeff Stanley and girlfriend Kim Kirkhan and Craig Stanley and wife Samantha, all of Warfordsburg, and Wendy Haley and husband Patrick, Dayton, Ohio; sisters: Maude Stephens, Agnes Smith and Anna Cannell, all of Detroit, Mich.; 13 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jennings Stanley.
Services were held Saturday, February 20, at 11:00 a.m., at Grove Funeral Home, Hancock. Rev. Delmas Bard officiated. Burial was private and at the convenience of the family.
