Cards Of Thanks

Recently and quite unexpectedly, we were able to fly to Miami, Fla., to pick up our daughter who we, for nearly three years, have been working to adopt from Haiti.

With the tragedy that has rocked Port-au-Prince, our daughter, Isna, was flown out of the country under humanitarian conditions. This sudden arrival was a pleasant surprise, but what was equally unexpected and pleasant was the outpouring of generosity from our community. From cards, to donations of clothes (she was taller than we expected), to prayers, to prepared meals and visits, we feel truly blessed.

We would like to especially thank Fulton County Medical Center and CEO Jason Hawkins for donating medical and lab services, Angela McKelvy and our library friends for preparing meals for us, Laurel Ridge Church for prayers and support and our families and friends for their encouragement and love.

Although we are still transitioning, it is encouraging that we have such a supportive community here in Fulton County.
Sincerely,
Jeremy and Natalie

EDWARDS

This in praise of the surgical unit at Fulton County Medical Center. Dr. Milroth recommended Dr. Todd Harrison of Hagerstown. I had two outpatient surgeries on my feet. My surgeries went great. Dr. Henderson personally called to check on me afterwards. Thanks to Dr. Milroth for the recommendation. The surgical unit folks could not have treated me kinder.

Perhaps a star on that sidewalk in California! You all did yourself proud with my two visits. To Jill for your concern and kindness over and beyond. To all the others I can’t recall names, but thanks.

I finally can wear open-toed shoes and not be ashamed. At my age that’s a real pride in myself too.

Your prayers and encouragement will always be appreciated. We especially want to thank our families, church family and neighboring churches for your visits, support and the meals that were provided.

Our family was strengthened by Steve’s business family, customers and classmates who helped us in a remembrance of his life. We really appreciate the efforts of our friends and neighbors who assisted us in so many different ways.

A special thank-you to Rev. Garber, who was there for the entire family. Your efforts have helped us cope during this most difficult time. Again we want to say thanks and may God bless each of you.
