Walnut Grove Church of God Senior Youth Group held a spaghetti dinner at the Fellowship Building on Sunday afternoon. A silent and traditional auction was held after the meal. At the prices the pies were bringing, there must be some fantastic pastry chefs in Maddensville!

Congratulations to Derrick and Heather Walker Doyle on the birth of their son, Dathyn, on Saturday, February 13. Dathyn weighed in at 8 pounds, 10 ounces and was 21 inches long. Grandparents are Rick and Tonja Anderson Doyle, and great-grandparents are Mearl and Kay Rosenberry.

Brian, Emily and Micah Ramsey, Trudy Fix, and Chelsey Hockenberry visited with Roger and Pat Ramsey on Sunday afternoon. It wasn’t too cold for some homemade ice cream to be enjoyed.

An Angel Wings Spring Fling craft bazaar and food sale will be at held at the Orbisonia Lions Club building on March 13 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on March 14 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will be crafts and chicken picnic dinners available. All proceeds will be redistributed throughout the community.

Attending the Beta Sigma Phi Sweetheart Ball in McConnellsburg on Saturday, February 13, were Gordon and Donna Locke, Buzz and Bea Covert, Travis Madden, Angie Roher, Brooke Lightner and friend Cody, Terri Grissinger, Tammy Grissinger, Ramon Martin, Steve and Karen Grissinger, Gary and Valerie Mitchell, and Brian and Tammy Fraker.

Thirty folks from Immanuel Bible Church enjoyed a Valentine’s Day dinner at the New Fort Family Restaurant on Sunday afternoon.

Shaine and Kean Goshorn visited with Buzz and Bea Covert on Monday.

Ryan Bomgardner, a Christian comedian and ventriloquist from Ephrata, will be the guest speaker on Sunday, February 21, beginning at 10 a.m. at the Immanuel Bible Church near Three Springs.

Three Springs Fire Co. will be holding a chicken and waffles dinner on March 7 beginning at 11 a.m. Eatin or takeouts will be available.

Hustontown Volunteer Fire Co. will be hosting a shooting match on Saturday beginning at 1 p.m.

Visitors with the Steve and Karen Grissinger family this week were Donna Locke, Pat Ramsey, Tom Streightiff, Tawnya, Tristen and Ty Hall, Linda Zeger, Paul Ramsey, Gary Mitchell and Travis Madden.

If you are brave enough to shovel to the bottom of the heap of snow, I think there might be some green grass growing. I have had crocus bloom in February, but I’m thinking that might not happen this year. Anyway, officially, only one month until spring arrives.
