Howard E. Fox Sr.
He was born March 10, 1953, in Harrisburg, Pa., the son of the late John and Clair (Taylor) Fox Jr. He was married to Sue Ferry Fox on September 23, 1972, in Mc- Connellsburg.
He was employed by K.W. Reese of Mercersburg, as a diesel mechanic. He was very active in the McConnellsburg Volunteer Fire Co., having been a 10-year member. He was the engineer and was awarded the Fireman of the Year for 2009. He was also a member of Needmore Volunteer Fire Co. and Cumberland Valley Volunteer Fire Co. Association.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Sue E. Fox of McConnellsburg; four sons: Charles David (husband of Lisa Stull) Fox of Mercersburg; Howard (husband of Miranda Bishop) Fox of State Line; Jason (husband of Karen Pine) Fox Sr. of McConnellsburg; and Dennis Fox of McConnellsburg; eight grandchildren: Davey, Cody, Jason Jr., Serintegra Marie, Trinity, Molly Sue, Hope Blue and Savannah Rose Bishop; and one great-granddaughter, Peyton R.; six brothers: Earl of Harrisburg; Larry of Enola, Paul of Colonial Park; Ted of Spring Run; Harry “Butch” of Huntingdon; and Ed Sr. of Chambersburg; three sisters: Sue of Mechanicsburg; Ethel of Harrisburg; and Clara of Manchester; one foster brother, Mark Jones of Walnut Bottom, Pa.; and two foster sisters: Marion “Cookie” of Pennsylvania and Leneah of Washington, Pa.
He is preceded by his parents, John and Clair Fox Jr., and two brothers: John F. and Donnie Fox,
A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 6, 2010, at McConnellsburg Volunteer Fire Co., with Rev. E. Loy Garber and Rev. Charles Bernhard officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Howard’s name to McConnellsburg Volunteer Fire Co., 112 East Maple Street,McConnellsburg, PA 17233.
