Dale Fraker of Lake Panasofkee, Fla., passed away on Sunday, January 31. Our sympathy is extended to Rick and Cecilia Fraker and Jack and Susan Carnes and their families. Memories of the times we spent with him are with us always.

On Saturday, Walnut Grove senior youth group travelled to State College for lunch at CiCi’s pizza and to take in the Winter Jam concert at the Bryce Jordan Center. After standing in a very long, cold line everyone warmed up as soon as the concert started. >Those enjoying the trip were Dustin Barr, Joey Pine, Dane Rhoades, DJ Stains, Dezaray Swope, Kevin, Lynette, Ryan, Kelsey and Brianne Fleck, and Joe, Melanie and Dison Myers.

Orbisonia United Methodist Church youths also enjoyed the Winter Jam Christian concert.

Walnut Grove Church will hold its annual valentine spaghetti dinner following worship service on Sunday, February 14.

Gordon and Donna Locke and Ruth Grissinger traveled to the Puskarich home in Altoona for a family gathering last Sunday afternoon.

Congratulations to Braydon Locke, who is 6-2 in wrestling. He loves the takedowns.

Tom and Mamie Streightiff visited with the Streightiff family in Huntingdon on Sunday afternoon at the home of John and Gail Young. Others enjoying the gathering were Huldah and Betty Streightiff, Katie Young, Cody, Shawn and Ellie Young, and Chuck and Polly Streightiff.

Tom and Mamie Streightiff attended the Juniata College girl’s basketball game on Saturday afternoon. Jordan Speck is a player for Juniata College.

There will be a ham dinner served on Saturday, February 6, at the Orbisonia UMC Outreach Center to benefit the “Bride of Christ Ladies Retreat” on Feb 20.

Visitors with the Steve and Karen Grissinger family this week were Donna Locke, Chuck Streightiff, Tom and Mamie Streightiff, Buzz and Bea Covert, Mike, Patty, Chris and Kevin Pintozzi, and Travis Madden.

A music fest is held every Friday evening at the Orbisonia UMC Outreach Center from 7 to 9 p.m.

A pesticide update training will be held at the Huntingdon County Extension Office on February 9 from 7 to 9 p.m. Core and category credits will be given.

Hustontown Area Volunteer Fire Co. will hold a 410 shooting match on February 6 beginning at 1 p.m.

Three Springs Fire Co. will hold a turkey dinner on February 7 beginning at 11 a.m.
