Timmy L. Strait Sr.
He was employed by James Rivers in Chambersburg as a machine operator. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
He was a loyal member of the Supreme Council of the House of Jacob and worshipped in Mc- Connellsburg for many years. God looked down upon Elder Timmy and he was made the assistant pastor of McConnellsburg and was later made the pastor. He served in that capacity until 1993, at which time he was sent to Hancock, Md., where he served as pastor until 1996. He was then sent to Paw Paw, W.Va., where he served as pastor until August of 2009 when his health no longer permitted him to do so.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Connie D. Strait of Mc- Connellsburg; two sons: Timmy L. Strait Jr. of McConnellsburg, and Cornelius W. Strait of Needmore; nine grandchildren and his mother, Evelyn F. Strait of Mc- Connellsburg; four brothers: David, Michael, Mark and Daniel Strait.
He was preceded in death by his father, David W. Strait Sr.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 30, 2010, at Supreme Council of the House of Jacob Church in Mc- Connellsburg.
