McConnellsburg fought valiantly in the second and third periods Monday night against Cumberland Valley Christian, which picked up a 58-40 nonleague victory. Valerie Green netted seven points for the Lady Spartans, and Kylie Zittle had six points. Nikki Fleming ended the game with five points.

Southern Fulton 56

Fannett-Metal 42

Southern Fulton jumped out to an eight-point lead and held on for the 56-42 win over Fannett Metal last Thursday. Chelsie Eader continued her season with a strong offensive effort with 24 points, five steals and three assists during the Sideling Hill League game. Amy Bard chipped in 13 points, and teammates Kayla Wertz and Jenna Hollenshead had nine points and nine rebounds, respectively.

McConnellsburg 32

McConnellsburg posted some impressive numbers following the halftime break, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the Forbes Road Cardinals, who clinched Thursday’s Sideling Hill League game 40-32. Kaili Hockensmith had a game-high 14 points and 11 rebounds for the Cardinals, who also got seven points, three assists and four steals from Sammie Clippinger. Valerie Green posted 11 points for the Spartans, and Rachel Porterfield pitched in 10 points.
