Carol J. Fessler

Dudley, 66

Carol Jean Fessler, 66, Dudley, died Tuesday, January 12, 2010, at Altoona Regional Health System, Altoona Hospital Campus.

Born April 17, 1943, in Dudley, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Amanda (Black) Fessler.

She is survived by siblings: Ray Fessler and wife Bertha, Waterfall; Cleoma Stoner, Todd; Dorothy Flanders, Venice, Fla.; Fae Montreal and husband Gabe, Schellsburg; and Harry “Fuzz” Fessler, Dudley; and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two sisters and a brother, Harriet Morningstar, Olive Stevens and Wilmer “Bab” Fessler; and four brothers-in-law and sisterin law: Charles Flanders, Ken Morningstar, Stanley Stevens, Wayne Stoner and Nancy Fessler.

She was a devoted member of the Robertsdale Church of God.

She was a 1961 graduate of Saxton Liberty High School.

She worked in the produce department of the Saxton IGA for 38 years, until her recent illness.

She enjoyed contributing to various charities, reading and working in her flower garden. Her family and friends will remember her as a devoted sister and friend to many, who was always available and willing to help anyone in need.

Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, January 15, at Akers Funeral Chapel, Saxton. Pastor Nathan Starr and Pastor Donald Simmons officiated. Interment was made in the Duvall Cemetery, Six Mile Run.
