Coroner Thanks Community

To The Editor:

With the announcement of my planned retirement from the office of coroner of Fulton County, I would like to extend my thanks and appreciation to those who have assisted me during my tenure.

I would also like to take this opportunity to again express my condolences to those families who have lost friends and loved ones, and to which I have been a part of your grieving and healing. My thoughts and prayers have always been with you.

The solemn fact of being the coroner in a small county has resulted in the extreme possibility that I have known the deceased or some member of the family, and that tends to make a difficult job even more difficult.

I would like to thank the members of volunteer fire companies for the assistance and security they provided on numerous occasions, and in all types of conditions and elements. Fulton County is a much better place because of your dedication and willingness to help care for our residents.

I would like to also thank my deputy coroners and clinical staff and for their ability to respond as required or represent me in my absence. I appreciate the support I received from the votes at election time. It has been my extreme pleasure to serve each and everyone of you.

Darryl E. Heckman Fulton County Coroner
