Kevin, Lynette and Ryan Fleck would like to thank everyone for the cards, visits, meals and prayers while Ryan was recovering from an injury sustained in an automobile accident

a few months ago on Fort Littleton Road. He is now able to return to work and hopes to be full time by next month.

Shade Gap Fire Co. kicks off its weekly hoagie and ham sandwich sales this Friday, January 15. Call Joanne Wakefield Appleby 814-259-3103 for information regarding large pickup orders or to see if someone has a scheduled delivery to a business in your area.

Angel Wings organization and the four families it benefited would like to thank everyone for their support at the Christmas bazaar. Keep a watch for the pending annual spring craft bazaar in March. Information will be provided as it becomes available. Donations can be made directly to the organization at any Community State Bank.

A music fest will be held every Friday evening at the Orbisonia UMC Outreach Center from 7 to 9 p.m. Everyone is welcome to attend or perform.

The Cantrell family and Ruth Grissinger enjoyed a belated Christmas pizza party and gift exchange.

Gordon and Donna Locke, Ruth Grissinger and Irene Park enjoyed lunch in Shade Gap on Sunday.

Buzz and Bea Covert and Shaine and Kean Goshorn attended the Farm Show in Harrisburg on Thursday.

A pesticide update training will be held at Southern Huntingdon County High School on January 28 in the vo-ag room from 7 to 9 p.m. Core and category credits will be given.

Hustontown Area Volunteer Fire Co. will be holding regular shooting matches on January 23 and 30 beginning at 1 p.m. Twelve-, 16- and 20-gauge shells will be provided.

Open stage will be held at the firehall on January 23 beginning at 6 p.m. The kitchen will open at 5 p.m.

Hustontown ladies auxiliary would like to thank everyone for their support in 2009 and wishes everyone a safe, happy and healthy 2010.

Three Springs Fire Co. will be holding a turkey dinner on February 7 beginning at 11 a.m.

Officially this week there is only 60 days until spring. God blessed us with a very welcome winter thaw this week after our recent “deep freeze” weather. It seemed like spring this Monday morning when I walked out the door and heard birds singing.
