Faith Christian 23, FCCCS 21

Fulton County Community Christian School wasn’t able to register on the scoreboard during the first period of Monday evening’s match and fell to Faith Christian by the slim margin of 23-21. Jenae Gordon was the high scorer for the Chargers with 11 points and also had three assists and seven steals. Andrea Leedy had six points and eight rebounds.

Everett 43, Southern Fulton 32

Southern Fulton narrowed Everett’s lead to six points during the fourth period Monday night, but the Warriors pulled away for an 11-point Sideling Hill League victory. Lacey Beatty totalled 18 points for the Lady Indians, and Amy Bard was the next highest scorer with six.

Tussey 53, McConnellsburg 12

McConnellsburg only scored a total of four points during the opening half Monday night and ended the Sideling Hill League match with a depressing 53-12 loss to Tussey Mountain. Valerie Green led her Spartan teammates with four points and four rebounds.

Covenant Christian 40

Fulton County Community Christian School allowed their lead to slip away several times last Friday when Covenant Christian took a 40-34 non-league victory. Jeanae Gordon totalled 20 points to lead the Chargers, and Andrea Leedy tallied 10 points. Rebecca Truax led the defensive effort with nine rebounds.

Tussey Mountain 42

Southern Fulton 37

Tussey Mountain had a strong third quarter to inch by the Southern Fulton Indians last Tuesday for a 42-37 victory. Chelsie Eader had 13 points and 10 boards, and Lacey Beatty also posted 13 points for the Indians as well as four assists. Amy Bard finished with eight points in the Sideling Hill League match.

McConnellsburg 48

Hyndman 24

McConnellsburg snapped its seven-game losing streak last Tuesday, decisively defeating the Hyndman Hornets by 24 points. Rachel Porterfield contributed 13 points and dished out two assists to lead the Spartans, and Casey Pollock also hit double digits with 10 points and five rebounds. Teammates Nikki Fleming and Valerie Green both finished with six points.

Tussey Mountain 71

Forbes Road 28

Forbes Road was no match for the Tussey Mountain Titans’ solid offense and hot shooting last Thursday during a dismal 71-28 Sideling Hill League loss. Kaili Hockensmith tallied 10 points, and Jessica Gearhart added seven. Hockensmith also contributed three steals and three assists.

Chestnut Ridge 47

Southern Fulton 16

Chestnut Ridge rolled onto a 31-point victory last Thursday, holding the Southern Fulton Indians to a mere 17.8 percent shooting success rate from the floor and zero foul shots. Chelsie Eader was the Indians high scorer with four points. Taelor Morton had two points, three assists and two steals.

James Buchanan 55

McConnellsburg 28

James Buchanan broke their four-game losing streak Wednesday evening with a 55-28 win over the McConnellsburg Spartans, who saw their season record drop further to 1-8. Rachel Porterfield had a team-high seven points. Teammates Valerie Green and Casey Pollock followed with six and five points respectively.

Mount Union 60, Forbes Road 49

Forbes Road wasn’t able to score in overtime last Wednesday and ended the non-league match in an 11-point loss to Mount Union. Kaili Hockensmith pumped in 16 points and added seven blocks for the Lady Cardinals. Sammie Clippinger followed closely with 13 points, and Jessica Gearhart tallied 16 rebounds, six assists, three steals and five points.
