MEETINGS

Christian Social Services Meeting Christian Social Services will hold a board meeting Thursday, January 21, at noon, in the basement of St. Paul Lutheran Church.

New 4-H Club Meeting A new Southern Fulton 4-H Club meeting will be held Monday, January 25, at 6:30 p.m. at SF Elementary School. This is a new community club open to all! Contact Lori at 717-485-4111 or e-mail lbh13@psu.edu with questions.

Horse & Pony Club Meeting The 4-H Horse & Pony Club will hold its next meeting January 23 at 6:30 p.m. at Knobsville United Methodist Church. Members are asked to bring a covered dish. Turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy will be provided. More information may be obtained by contacting Michelle DeShong at 717-485-3613 or the extension office at 717-485-4111.

COPE Meeting COPE’s parent support group will meet at 12:30 p.m. January 20 in the Head Start building. Topic will be “Your Communication Style.” Please call 717-485-4417 if any questions or needing directions.

Sportsmen’s League Meeting The Fulton County Sportsmen’s League will meet at 7:30 p.m. in the stone house at the trout nursery on January 15, 2010. New officers and board members will be appointed.

Historical Society Meeting Gene Niswander of St. Thomas, an authority on American Indian culture of Pennsylvania, will speak to Fulton County Historical Society members and friends on Saturday evening, January 16, 2010, at 7:00 p.m. in the Fulton Theatre meeting room of F&M Trust on North Second Street, McConnellsburg. He will describe what drew Indians to our mountains and streams, the location of the largest rock quarry on the Eastern seaboard, and how to find arrowheads today. Guests may bring in local Indian artifacts for his free evaluation. The meeting is free and open to the pubic with a donation box to cover costs. Light refreshments will be served.

Quilt Club Meeting Fulton County Quilt Club will meet Saturday, January 16, at 10:00 a.m., at the Fulton Theatre. This meeting will start the “From the Beginning” classes. Following a brief business meeting with election of officers, Regina Parsons will be teaching about batting, thread, needles and notions. Republican Meeting The Fulton County Council of Republican Women will meet on Thursday, January 14, at 4:45 p.m. in the secondfloor meeting room of the Fulton County Library. New members are encouraged, and all are welcome to attend.
