A McConnellsburg man faces charges of theft of a firearm as a result of an incident at Buchanan Trail Sporters LLC located in the Penn’s Village Shopping Center. State police reported Aaron Lee Deneen, 24, was inside M&M Electronics on Wednesday, December 30, using the store phone when he walked into the adjoining shop and allegedly removed a Sig Sauer 9MM semiauto pistol from a display case. The gun belongs to a 43-year-old McConnellsburg man. Deneen then fled the store on foot. The theft reportedly occurred between 11:55 a.m. and 1 p.m.
Burglary At Promise Land Road
A 23-year-old McConnellsburg woman reported a burglary at her home located at 819 Promise Land Lane in Todd Township on Tuesday, December 29. At 10:29 p.m. burglars stole several personal items from the home and punched several holes in the woman’s walls. Waterfall Woman Flown To Hospital
A Waterfall area woman was flown to Altoona Regional Hospital’s trauma center on Sunday, December 27, after suffering a leg injury during a two-vehicle collision in Breezewood.
According to state police in Bedford, Angela Gesser was headed eastbound when her Subaru Legacy struck the rear of a Freightliner tractor-trailer operated by James A. Crocci of Pittsburgh. The 4 a.m. collision occurred along Route 30 near the entrance to the Gateway truck stop. Gesser was not wearing a seat belt during the crash.
The red flag of a mailbox located at 951 Strawberry Ridge Road, McConnellsburg, was broken off between 9 p.m. on January 1 and 10 a.m. on January 2. The victim is a 36-year-old man.
Eggs were thrown at a home along Lincoln Way East in Mc- Connellsburg Borough between 7 p.m. on January 2 and 1:15 p.m. on January 3. The victim, a 49- year-old McConnellsburg woman, reported to state police her vehicle was also struck by eggs during the incident of criminal mischief. McConnellsburg Man Arrested Following DUI Crash
Fifty-three-year-old Michael Keith Wilson of McConnellsburg was arrested by state police on Thursday, December 31, following a driving-under-the-influence related collision along Route 522.
Wilson, state police reports indicate, was travelling south through Dublin Township when his 2000 Dodge Ram 1500 crossed the centerline and struck an oncoming 1999 Mack tractor-trailer driven by Scott Alexander Bousum, 44, of Petersburg.
Following the 2:30 p.m. impact, Wilson’s truck travelled onto the berm and struck a utility pole. Wilson was transported to Fulton County Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries. He was not wearing a seat belt. Charges of drunk-driving will be filed against Wilson through Magisterial District Judge Devin Horne.
Domestic Dispute Investigated
State police, McConnellsburg, were dispatched to the parking lot of Johnnie’s Motel in McConnellsburg for a domestic dispute that reportedly occurred during the early morning hours on New Year’s Day.
Thirty-nine-year-old Mc- Connellsburg resident Dodie Virginia Carbaugh allegedly encountered and argued with a 39- year-old male in the parking lot at 12:50 a.m. Carbaugh is accused of shoving and clawing the man during the argument that turned physical.
The victim suffered scratches and minor cuts to his face and neck, and Carbaugh sustained minor cuts to her hand. She was cited for harassment as a result of the incident.
McConnellsburg Men Face Drug Charges
After having drug charges filed last month against him in Fulton County, McConnellsburg resident Michael P. Collins now faces charges in neighboring Franklin County of criminal conspiracy to deliver illegal drugs and criminal use of a communication device. The newest set of charges stem from an incident that occurred on December 4 in St. Thomas Township, where Collins and fellow McConnellsburg resident Robert John Clark, 21, allegedly sold marijuana to an undercover officer.
Bail has not been set for Collins in the Franklin County case. He currently remains in the Franklin County Prison, however, in lieu of $50,000 for the Fulton County incident. In the meantime, Clark’s bail has been set at $50,000.
Car Strikes Utility Pole
Two Huntingdon County men were injured when their eastbound 1998 Saturn slid on a patch of gravel and struck a utility pole near the intersection of Rock Hill and Great Cove roads Sunday night. State police reported driver Seth Clemens, 18, of Mount Union and passenger 19-year-old Michael Detwiler from Rock Hill Furnace both suffered minor injuries during the 10:43 p.m. crash in Ayr Township. Only Clemens was wearing a seat belt, and his car sustained severe damage.
