William C. Hartmann
William C. Hartmann, 87, Harrisonville, died Sunday, January 3, 2010, at Altoona Regional Hospital.
He was born in Linden, N.J., April 17, 1922, the son of the late William A. and Emily (Salek) Hartmann. He was the widower of Dorris E. (Ives) Hartmann, who passed away November 25, 2002.
He attended Sideling Hill Christian Church, Needmore.
He was a member of the Round Table in Gettysburg, member of the Fulton County Historical Society, was an aerial photographer for the U.S. Army Air Corp., was a chemist at Binney & Smith in Easton, Pa., and also loved studying Civil War history.
He is survived by daughters: Christine I. Peters of Tatamy, Pa.; and Connie B. Hartmann, Richmond, Va.; granddaughter Beth Petrow, Tatamy, Pa.; great-granddaughter Lydia Peters Petrow, Tatamy, Pa.; and brother-in-law Kenneth Ives, Rogers, Ark.
He was preceded in death by a son, Mark Hartmann.
Funeral services will be held at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home Inc., McConnellsburg, at 11:00 a.m., on Thursday, January 7. Rev. William Swope will officiate. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
There will be visitation Thursday, January 7, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home Inc., McConnellsburg. Military services will be conducted by the Fulton Honor Guard.
