Eunice V. Parks

Port Royal, 86

Eunice V. Parks, 86, Port Royal, and formerly of Mapleton, died at 10:09 a.m., Sunday, December 27, 2009, at Lewistown Hospital.

Born February 1, 1923, in Union Township, she was a daughter of the late Benjamin and Villa (Shore) Varner. She married Isaac Glover Parks November 28, 1945. He preceded her in death December 16, 1978.

Surviving are two sons and a daughter: Bland R. Parks and wife Connie, Mapleton; Fred W. Parks and wife Vicky, Three Springs; and Susan Shoop and husband Fred, Port Royal; eight grandchildren and 15 greatgrandchildren; a brother and sister, Tom Varner, Mapleton, and Lolita Snyder, Burnt Cabins.

She was preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters: Frank, Guy, Raymond and Jay Varner, Vera Try, Zola Brechbiel, Nelda Gagermeier and Ethel Armstong.

She was a member of the former Latta Grove United Methodist Church, Mapleton.

She was a member of Jack’s Mountain Lioness Club and Three Springs Senior Citizens Center.

She retired from Owens-Corning Fiberglass, Huntingdon, with 32 years of service.

Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 30, at Robert I. McClain Funeral Home, Cassville. Rev. Dr. Kenneth Grundon officiated. Burial was made in Bowman’s Chapel Cemetery, Mapleton.
