David A. Owen

Syracuse, NY

David A. Owen, 91, of North Syracuse, formerly of Warfordsburg, Pa., passed away Tuesday at St. Joseph’s Hospital after a brief illness. He was an Army veteran of WWII. David was a cook for the Lake Placid Club and an excellent stone mason in Vermont and Pennsylvania.

He was predeceased by his wife Nellie(Divel) Owen, first wife Anna (Burriesci) Owen, three step sons, Richard Owen, Larry and Dale McFarland; his brothers, Dana and Charles Owen; his sisters, Mabel and Ruth Francis, Ella Prince and Myrtle McLane; and his parents, Elva and Fred Owen.

He is survived by his son, Duane Owen; daughters Sheila Owen and Catherine (Thomas) Stolz; two stepchildren, Darlene (Ken) Guckert, Darryl (Charlotte) McFarland; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

Services will be Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 N. Main St, N. Syracuse. There will be no calling hours.
