Technical Problem Shuts Down Pittsburgh Incline

PITTSBURGH (AP) – The Monongahela Incline in Pittsburgh has reopened after being shut down for several hours due to technical problems.

The Port Authority of Allegheny County says the incline was closed around 9 a.m. Sunday. The problem was resolved and the incline reopened around noon.

Officials say that a computer problem may be to blame.

The incline is a popular cable car that offers views of downtown Pittsburgh. It also serves as a means for residents of Mount Washington to get downtown.

A shuttle bus had been carrying riders between the upper and lower stations during the shutdown.
