Sharon Glazier recenly broke her ankle and is recuperating at this time at home.

Marie Hann is home after spending some time in Fulton County Medical Center.

Fulton County Honor Guard held their annual dinner on Sunday at McConnellsburg FOVA.

The Eagles Club in Harrisonville recently held a Christms party for children, giving out gifts and refreshments.

Hilary Chesnut, Argyle, Texas, daughter of Jimmy Chesnut and Denise Chesnut, both of Mc- Connellsburg, spent Christams here with family and friends.

Public Opinion weekly honor roll student-athletes were lacey Beatty, Luke Mellott, Southern Fulton; and Tanner Henry, Forbes Road, all for basketball.

Sympathy goes out to the families of Linda Wireman and Larry Souders, who passed away last week. Also to the family of Steve Swadley, who lost his life to cancer last week.

John “Pete” and Bessie Rasp observed their 62nd wedding anniversary on January 5.

Betty Hershey is now a resident in the long-term care unit at Fulton County Medical Center.

Devin Shives has returned to the states and visiting with relatives after spending nine months in Iraq. He is with the Fort Indiantown Gap National Guard. He is the son of Robbie Shives and a grandson of Mack and Wynell Shives and Linda Deyarmin.

The Pennsylvania Farm Show begins on Saturday, January 9, and runs through January 16.

Snow blanketed our county again over the New Year’s holiday, making driving a little difficult, especially with high winds over the weekend.

Ken and Lunda Strait celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on January 3.

Hazel Deshong, formerly of Strawberry Ridge, is now a resident in the long-term care unit at Fulton County Medical Center, Room 24A.

It happened this week: Guy Lombardo and his Royal Canadians played “Auld Lang Syne” as a New Year’s song for the first time in 1929. It had long been the band’s theme song, but that night’s nationwide broadcast led people to identify the tune with New Year’s Eve.

Country shortcuts: Before washing hanging houseplants, slip a shower cap on the bottom of the pot. If water or dirt washes out of the bottom, the cap will catch it.
