Vada M. Mellott
Vada Mae Mellott, 71, a resident of Fulton County Medical Center Extended Care Unit and formerly of Needmore, died Thursday, December 17, 2009, at Fulton County Medical Center, McConnellsburg.
She was born in Bedford County, September 26, 1938, the daughter of the late Conda and Myrtle (Helmick) Davis. She was the wife of Ralph H. Mellott, whom she married November 28, 1957.
She was a member of Pleasant Union Church, Clearville, former member of the VFW Post 2088 and the American Legion Post 8 Ladies Auxiliary in Everett. She worked at Sideling Hill Plaza and retired from Lions Manufacturing in Everett.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by daughters: Barbara A. (wife of Ray) Bakner, Needmore; Brenda Sue (wife of Jimmy) Deal, Dothan, Ala.; sons: L. Lee (husband of Marie) Mellott, Harrisonville; Stanley E. Mellott, Needmore; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by daughter, Charlene Davis; a son, Charles R. Mellott; sister Marie Edwards; brother Orville Davis and grandsons: Randy and Justin Mellott.
Memorial services were held at Pleasant Union Church, Clearville, at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 22. Pastor Lyle Mellott officiated.
