FCMC Foundation Presents First Check To Heal Africa
Rebecca Cech, daughter of the late James E. “Jim” Camp, proudly accepts a check for $3,200 to be sent to Heal Africa to continue the work of her father. Camp passed away suddenly late last winter. Having served Fulton County for 19 years as a nurse anesthetist at Fulton County Medical Center, the FCMC Foundation created the Jim Camp Campaign to continue his life’s work. A native of Africa, Camp established a scholarship for nursing students, equipment maintenance and sent used medical equipment for use in his native countr y. The FCMC Foundation kicked off the Jim Camp Campaign in August of 2009, and to date, more than $10,000 has been raised to insure that his legacy continues. The first check, for $3,200, will fund scholarships for 40 students and pay for the equipment maintenance program for four months.
