FCAVTS Hosts Blood Drive

The Fulton County Area Vocational Technical School (FCAVTS) Allied Health students recently hosted a blood drive through the American Red Cross. The blood drive was held at Mc- Connellsburg High School on December 16, 2009. Olivia Rose, Tasha Strait and Julie Seville planned and coordinated the blood drive as their senior project. Mrs. Brandi Mellott, Allied Health instructor, supervised the activities for the students. The FCAVTS serves students from the Central Fulton, Forbes Road and Southern Fulton school districts.

Both Olivia and Tasha are second-year Allied Health students. Olivia attendsSouthernFultonHigh School, while Tasha and Julie are McConnellsburg High School students.

Twenty-two volunteers offered a donation, including students, teachers and community members. A second blood drive is being planned at the Southern Fulton High School in the spring. Announcements will be made when an exact date is set.
